Blog

This blog is a place and a space for me to express my thoughts for the times I feel like snatching another adult bald-headed, which, unfortunately, is just about every day. Thus my desire to be incognegro. I mostly discuss issues via the lens of race, and sometimes via the lens of gender. But, every -ism is ugly to me, and I am sure I will write about each of them at some point. Thus the reason I feel like snatching another adult bald-headed. Although some of what I write is commentary on current events, most of what I write is from my personal and lived experience; it’s stuff that one just can’t make up, although to the reader, it may seem that way – LOL! Besides, there are plenty of blogs which accomplish the former, and quite satisfactorily.

Second, the views expressed are my own, and are not designed to represent the mindset of every Black woman. Even if I could represent the mindset of every Black woman, I have neither the energy nor the desire to do that.

Third, even though I write about my own personal and lived experiences, I think that much of what I write has something to which virtually everyone who reads my posts can connect. In fact, such as been the case in the comments I have received to my posts.

Fourth, I am a deep thinker, which is reflected in my writing. I realize that every person who visits my blog and who reads my posts may not be in the mood to read the mind spills of a deep thinker, and that’s okay. Just know that race, gender and the other -isms which afflict American society aren’t going away any time soon, and at some point, they will require each of us to play a role in their eradication.

Last, being a teacher, I hope that in some way my writing will enlighten, inform and educate, and, perhaps, lead to independent learning on how to do “the work” of anti-racism. At the very least, I hope my writing will cause the reader to raise an eyebrow, and say, “Hmmm.”

So, sit back, have a glass of Chambord – after all, you’re paying for it, and enjoy the experience.
