About Me

After hitting pay dirt on several occasions to get a personal blog going, I’ve struck proverbial gold. I think. I hope. We’ll see.

I am a B.A.P. I am also a Spanish teacher, and, at this point, I will put in a shameless plug for my teaching blog, Pensamientos. It’s really good; check it out. It needs all the hits it can get.

I really enjoy my job. The kids are great, and, I can hardly imagine life without teaching.

I also enjoy writing. I began blogging in December 2006. I needed a place to vent. I have since deleted that blog, which was called, “It’s A Hardknock Teacher’s Life.” I wanted to go in a different direction with my writing. Which is why I now maintain two separate blogs.

I am a tech geek, an information junkie, and a girly-girl. How’s that for a combination? I enjoy many things. Check out my “Stuff This Black Woman Likes” page.

I strive to be a good person, a good Christian, a good anti-racist, and a good feminist, not to mention daughter, sister, friend…That’s a lot of being good, isn’t it? Hmmm…

A good colleague? Well, let’s just say that this is more challenging. I do my best in the place of employ. But, I am a firebrand. “Yep; that seems to fit the problem”, to quote a student at my place of employ.
